Multi-Stage Diagnostic
The Multi-Stage Diagnostic report is based on completed mathematics diagnostic assessments and provides the student scale score A scale score is a score that can be compared with other tests on the same scale. For MSDA Diagnostic assessments, scale scores can be used to measure growth over time. and performance data within the selected filter options.
Run Your Report
- Select the Reports tab, and then choose the Multi-Stage Diagnostic report.

Do one of the following:

Starting at the top, select the Dates filter options.

Click the Schools open text filter field When you click in an open text filter field, it displays up to 100 selectable values based on your previous filter choices. You can also enter keywords or part of a name to immediately enable a search of a specific selection. and select one or more values.
- Click the Teachers open text filter field and select one or more teachers.
- Click the Classes open text filter field and select one or more classes.
- Click the Students open text filter field and select one or more students.

Click the Programs open text filter field and select one or more programs.

Click the Assessments open text filter field and select one or more assessments.

Click the Domains open text filter field to select one or more domains.

Click the Assessment Performance Levels open text filter field to select one or more performance levels.

Select Load Filter.

Select the filter from the list, and then click Load.
- Click Run to generate the report. Click Stop to cancel your request.
- In the report results, double-click or use the caret to open a District row and view the Schools.
- Continue to drill down to view additional data by class, teacher, and student.

Optionally, to save new filter selections for future use:

Click the (Filter) icon, and select Save Filter.

Type a unique Filter Name, click Save, and then click Close.
Filter names are case-sensitive.

Use the following additional features to customize your view and use of the report's data:
Click any report column header to sort the report content by the data in that column.
Elements | Data Descriptions |
---|---|
District | Name of the district. Double-click or use the caret to open a District row and view the assessment, school and class data. |
Assessment | Name of the assessment. Double-click or use the caret to continue drill down. |
School | Name of the school. Double-click or use the caret to continue drill down. |
Class - Teacher | Name of the class and teacher. Double-click or use the caret to continue drill down. |
Student | Name of the student. |
Submit Date | Date and time of the assessment submitted by the student in UTC. |
Raw Score | The number of points a student earned by answering questions correctly in each domain. Averaged across all students at the class level, school level, and district level. |
Max Score | The total number of points available on questions that students answered in each domain. Averaged across all students at the class level, school level, and district level. |
Scale Score | Overall scale score A scale score is a score that can be compared with other tests on the same scale. For MSDA Diagnostic assessments, scale scores can be used to measure growth over time. for the assessment and for each domain. Averaged across all students at the class level, school level, and district level. |
Performance Level | Overall level at which the student's performance lies within a score range for the assessment and for each domain: Does Not Meet, Approaching, Meets, or Exceeds expectations. |
